Small Merlin Titanium Extralight Road Bike with S & S Couplers and travel case

  

This is a sweet and small late 90s or early 2000s Merlin Extralight 47cm bike. It was converted to an S & S coupled bike by Erik Rolf of Alliance Bicycles in about 2015..

That's to say it has not been hammered. It's a sweet sweet frame with lots of life left in it.

It's been built with Campy Chorus 10 speed shifters, brakes and rear derailleur. She wanted a triple so we set it up with a Shimano Tiagra triple and a sora front derailleur. (easily convertible to something more aligned with its breeding).

Those are excerpts from the 1999 Merlin catalogue in the photos. Nice Sella San Marco Saddle, Richy Carbon bar, Easton Seat post, Vector fork, Mavic Ksyrium ES Anniversaries wheel set. Pretty nice in their day and still roll quite well. Comes with the S and S travel Box, Compression posts and TSA net as well as the S&S coupler tool and a 15mm open end for pedal mounting.

The bottle cages and the Speedplay zeros are included as well. This is a bike that can be perfect for traveling or for a kid who you want to get a high end bike for but stay restrained on costs. Change the stem and front gearing set up and frankly it is race ready. Or of course use it as the travel bike it is set up to be. To get something comparable new today is gonna be well up around 8k or more.

It is easy to set up and tear down. Well under an hour on each end if you travel with it. If it sells for over 2500.
